Learning from sitting
We don’t ride a lot of horses, but we do appreciate the intersection of curiosity, design, identity and craft. This beautiful little story of saddles crafted in Kazakstan came to us via our friend @aseatinthestreet and is a really cool extension of the Cross Cultural Chairs project by designer Matteo Guarnaccia, itself an incredibly inspiring, global story of good design.
As a team currently in the process of designing and crafting our own furniture (coming soon…) and on a journey to explore the idea and practice of craft in general, there is beauty not just in the object but in the journey to get there. Capturing a story like this, especially the way that Nownes do it is inspiring, more so is how many projects like this are happening all across the world, just not on camera.
“Design is not only about the perfect result, but a method of engagement.”
Here’s a deeper dive into the story of the film over at WePresent and the full Cross Cultural Chairs project.
