Outposts.

Ripple Design Outposts are offshore bases/physical spaces from our home in Abu Dhabi to place the Ripple Collective at the center of significant design cultures and conversations.

Design Outposts (not offices) exist to bring design knowledge and positive impact to
Abu Dhabi through immersion and intentional connections to creative cultures.

Think of them like cultural listening posts—with shelves, seats, and stories.

The idea of Design Outposts was born from a simple belief: growth doesn’t always mean expansion—it can also mean depth. And for us, depth means connection, curiosity, and reflection.

That's why it's an Outpost, not an office. It's not a business opportunity (it might actually be a terrible 'business' decision) but it's a risk worth taking to help us grow in the ways that we need to.

These Outposts are not just overseas bases—they are invitations. Invitations to learn, to collaborate, to listen, and to tell stories together.

Design Outposts are not a statement, they are a study.

Our Hypothesis.

Tokyo (opening now) and Copenhagen (opening soon) represent renowned contemporary design identities that point a direction for Abu Dhabi to follow.

Both places we recognize as valuable sources of design knowledge and a consistent, timeless and sophisticated design identity.

Both are also built from the same spirit as Emirati design identity: minimalism (carry only what you can) and Functionalism (if it’s not useful it’s not worth it).

Concepts we can learn lessons from as we build our own design identity.
